No Fees Until You Settle
We accept most of our cases on a deferred fee basis, meaning you don’t pay until your case is resolved. In Ontario, contingency fee agreements are regulated by the Law Society of Ontario. We encourage you to read the Law Society’s Consumer Guide to Contingency Fee Agreements in Ontario. Additionally, your potential lawyer can address any questions during the free initial consultation.
Our firm offers contingency fee agreements for personal injury and insurance matters. However, we do not offer these agreements for criminal or family matters. Our maximum contingency fee is 40% for complex medical malpractice cases and 33% for injury and insurance matters.
Different lawyers in our firm, with varying levels of experience, may offer lower percentages in certain situations, particularly when a client has multiple legal issues. If we are successful, a portion of those fees and most of the disbursements will be added to any settlement or trial judgment. In some cases, if the matter goes to trial, the court may award additional costs to cover fees incurred by your lawyer.
